Alan William's marriage proposal - Remebered by Verne Williams

This is just one of my wonderful memories of Lisa, as a small girl. She must have been about 4 years old and Alan and I lived in Honeymead Whitchurch and all of our children were playmates of the Joy children. One winters evening about 5 o'clock there was a knock on our door and when i answered, there was Lisa dressed in her mums knee high boots, long necklace and a fur jacket, also Maureens. "Hello" i said trying not to laugh, "what can i do for you". "Is alan home" she asked "I need to ask him a question, but i dont have long as my tea is nearly ready" "ok" I'll get him" i replied. Alan came to the front door and Lisa looked up and said. "Will you wait until i grow up and then marry me" Alan looked down at her and said " I certainly will". " ok" said Lisa "I've got to go now" and off she went. This made us laugh for a long, long time.
