Anyone for jam tarts? As remebered by Verne Williams

One day Lisa and my son james were happily playing in the garden while I was baking. James asked if he and lisa could have some pastry and jam and tins to make tarts in the garden. Oh well, I thought, that will keep them occupied for a while. In our garden at the time was an old coal bunker with a front which slid up and down, quite like an oven really. The kids were happily popping their jam tarts in and our of their "oven", after all what's a little coal dust between friends. My baking was done and I was just about to turn off the oven when lisa asked if she could cook the tarts "for real". I didn't think it would hurt and popped them in and they were done in no time. When everything was put away, I called over to my neighbour Ros and asked if she would like to join me for tea and cake, which she did. she came over and wandered out into the garden, chatting to james and lisa and I called out that tea was ready. " I know said Ros, the kids have given me a jam tart, and before I could tell her that they had been in and out of the coal bunker all afternoon she had popped it in her mouth!!! James and lisa thought Ros was fab for eating one of their tarts instead of mine.
